Instructor, & Curriculum Developer
Judith Nuñez Romero
Judith's journey has been one of remarkable resilience and determination. Born and educated in Mexico, where she earned her degree in psychotherapy, Judith immigrated to Brunswick in 2017. Initially grappling with the English language, her struggle not only shaped her understanding of the immigrant experience but also fueled her passion to assist others facing similar challenges.
In Brunswick, Judith quickly became an integral part of the community. She initially worked with Foster Love Ministries as a Behavioral Aide, where she extensively supported the Hispanic community. Her role in education continued to expand as she took on the position of an ESOL and Spanish language instructor at Brunswick and St. Simons Library and served as a Spanish substitute teacher at Frederica Academy.
Driven by her commitment to education and empowerment, and with the support of colleagues Aurora and Lourdes, Judith co-founded ELLA, a new initiative launched on August 7, 2023, to support English language learners. This initiative underscores her dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for immigrants and our local community.

Hispanic Community Outreach Director
Lourdes Alejandro Enrriquez
At the heart of ELLA is our co-founder and Hispanic Community Outreach Director, Lourdes Alejandro Enriquez. Originally from Mexico, Lourdes brought her entrepreneurial spirit to Brunswick in 2016. Her journey in the U.S. began with the establishment of "Mi Tierra Mexican Store," a family-operated business that quickly became a local favorite.
Demonstrating her versatility and commitment to service, Lourdes also owns "Señoritas Cleaning Service," a company specializing in construction cleanup, and is involved in the family-owned residential construction company, "A-Ortiz Construction."
Lourdes's personal journey with the English language is both inspiring and foundational to the creation of ELLA. Learning English independently upon her arrival in the U.S., she later sought formal classes to polish her skills. It was here that she met Judith, and together, they recognized a prevalent need within the Brunswick Hispanic community for accessible language education. This realization led to a collaboration with Aurora, and thus, ELLA was born.
At ELLA, Lourdes combines her leadership skills and her experiences as both an entrepreneur and a student to enhance community outreach efforts. She is passionate about empowering individuals through language, believing firmly that communication is key to building bridges between cultures.
